Brayshott Cottage Michael Cornell recalls - ’I was born in that cottage in 1937, it fact I am sure I was the last child born there. The farmer my father worked for had him pull it down in, - think the late 60s or early 70s. I am pretty sure the red roofed barn on the end was not there by the time I came along. The picture with the clump of trees in it hides, if I remember correctly, a very deep pond which was used for water when the pump which stood behind the barn ran dry. I think it was dug as a watering place for steam engines' |
