NEVILLE Arthur born Nov. 1885 – Employed as a farm labourer. Aged 31 years 1 month when he enlisted into the Essex Regiment on 23 December 1914 at Saffron Walden. Service No. 16569, . Address: High Street, Henham. He married Ellen Louisa Warwick, spinster, at Henham on 9 July 1904. His child Florence Neville was born at Henham on 6th December 1905. By 10th July 1916 he is no longer physically fit for active service. Date of origin of disability was 12 months earlier at White City, London. Not caused by war or injury and general health was good. Operation not advised. Discharge recommended. Disability was conjunctivitis, and could not see well, and it is permanent. Ability to work in general labour market reduced by a quarter. Has not done any parades for over a year.
