Felix Reuben Barltrop Service Record

Felix Reuben Barltrop, Private, died 27/11/1916. Enlisted at Houslow, Middlesex. Service No. 10545 Royal Fusiliers 12th Battalion. Buried at Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe. He was born in Thaxted, son of Reuben and Ann Barltrop. Married to Mary Barltrop of Percy Villa, Woodthorpe Road, Ashford, Middlesex.

From the Battalion war diary we learn that Felix was the only 12th Royal Fusilier soldier to be killed that day as it states
‘On a very fine and sunny but cold day – Enemy shelling, 1 Killed and 3 wounded’
