Nelson Arthur Snow Service Record

SNOW Nelson Arthur, Private aged 36yrs 1 mth when enlisted 13 Feb 1917 at Saffron Walden, service no. 72402 Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment) 121 Labour Corp. His address was Alsa Wood, Stansted and is employed as a nursery hand when he enlists. Married to Ellen Minnie Davey 24 Apr 1909 at Henham, one child Doris Marjorie Snow born 20 May 1910. He was unable to attend his first medical on 6 Jan 1917 due to having influenza. He had been exempt from serving as his employment was necessary up to Sept 1916.

Embarked Folkstone, disembarked Boulogne on 5 Mar 1917; compulsory transfer on 9 Apr 1918 to Essex Regiment 554 Road Construction Company. 8 Jun 1918 transferred to the UK for 14 days leave; examined in the field 26 Feb 1919.
