REYNOLDS William Charles Harold, Private, enlisted at Saffron Walden on 10 September 1914. Service No. 145517 Northamptonshire Regiment. Born in Henham. Age at enlistment 20 years and 150 days. Employed as a general labourer. His parents were George and Rose Reynolds and he had a brother, Harry.
Service Record – Essex Regiment 10/09/14 to 31/08/1915. Transferred to the Northamptonshire Regiment 20/09/1915. Discharged 14/05/1919 as part of the dispersement of the army, he is marked that he has a disability of flat foot on his papers and is single. There is a reference to his and his parent’s address as ‘near Gate House, Elsenham’. On 14 February 1921 he acknowledges receipt of the 1914-15 Star Medal. He also receives the British War and Victory Medal. There is a request by Reynolds for his discharge papers in 1932, this includes a letter advising that he is now living in Canada, is unemployed and is requesting his army pension. The address he is now residing at is Fifth Avenue, 502 Athabasca Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
