SHEAD William, (maybe SHADE) Private aged 24 yrs when enlisted with Grenadier Regiment of Foot Guards on 2 Apr 1813 at Portsmouth. He was born 1789 in Henham, Essex, and was shown as his employment as labourer. Shown as serving at Waterloo for 2 yrs; served in the Peninsula War 1813 & 1814, Waterloo & Paris 1815 Army of Occupation (1816, 1817 & 1818); requested a modified pension; very good character; discharged 24th July 1832 (after 19yrs 114 days) aged 43 yrs & 6 mths and intended to live in Henham.
